It was a bitterly cold morning on Wednesday with my thermometer saying it was minus two centigrade when I left for my first shift at work. I know it's a lot colder in other places, but we've been spoiled this year with an exceptionally mild autumn, so it came as a bit of a shock. It took me 15 minutes to scrape the ice off the bus before I was actually ready to head off and pick the children up.
After the first shift, it was a fairly standard day for me. I went for a walk around the park and local roads and then popped into town for a few essential groceries. The temperature must have been above freezing as I walked through the park as the remaining leaves were falling off trees and coming down like snow even though there was no wind to move them.
That's it for today. Thank you for reading, and I'll be back tomorrow.
