Tuesday.
This is yesterday's report card.
The heat is cooling down slightly and there's a few days of comfortable temperatures ahead, before it's supposed to heat up again.
I had an unusually adventurous day yesterday.
Not too long ago, while taking the train into town, I noticed the hospital two towns over from grandma's place had been closed down. According to the internet it stopped operating in 2016 and there's now an ongoing dispute about the sales of the property, which means it's just sitting there all abandoned waiting to be explored.
I easily found a way in and was ready for some #urbex adventuring.
There's a special thrill to exploring an abandoned building, especially one of this size. Three connected wings with individual stairwells and four to six stories high.
I didn't expect there would be too much stuff left, in fact most of the rooms are just empty rooms, but there's surprisingly little vandalism and much more stuff still around than I would have thought.
Unfortunately the place is quite dark and my phone struggled to take decent pictures and I was kind if rushing through the whole building quietly and nervously to get an impression of the whole building and making sure I am alone in there.
I'll have to come back, maybe with a tripod and a proper camera. Now that I know the lay of the land, I can approach the place more calmly and take some time to find some good angles and interesting frames.
I'll still be a bit creeped out, for sure, but that's what makes it an adventure I guess. I have a sense of where to run or hide should I stumble into an uncomfortable situation.
Or maybe @isnogud will join me for the next exploration. We'll see, I'll let you know.
It's been a while since I had a proper adventure like this. Feels nice to get some adrenaline rushing. It is really creepy to stand in an empty dark operating room after all.
Thanks for your time!
