Friday.
The sun was out and I finally found some fungi. Awesome! Finally it's a #FungiFriday again.
I took a walk into the forest and I was looking very hard. The nights are still pretty cold and the mushrooms aren't growing too much yet. I would mostly find some old bracket mushrooms left from last year and slowly decaying. Beautiful in its own way but nothing I felt would look pleasing in a picture.
I came by this fallen tree when I noticed something peculiar. You'd need to look very closely but there was a little mushroom cap emerging from the decaying wood.
A cap without a stem? How awkward... but in reality, there's more than meets the eye.
The mushroom is growing inside of the tree, emerging from a little hole, sticking out its little cap. If you look even closer, you can notice there's a couple more little mushrooms inside of that hole.
It's a small find, but it's a bit special, too. I was happy with what I found... it's the little things that matter and I finally had something for the fun and funky #fungifriday fans again...
But then...
Two mighty Chewbacca!!
These guys have been growing for multiple years.
Toughened by the seasons they almost look like rock formations weathered by the eons.
In all those years, they've developed quite a unique character. You might already know what I am thinking about.
👀
Unfortunately I didn't bring any... maybe next week?!
Thanks for your time!
P.S.: I am kind of omitting the technicalities but you should definitely check out the awesome FungiFriday Community by @ewkaw!
