Tuesday.
Another sunny day and the temperatures are climbing.
I had a pretty shitty start of the day so the afternoon required some extensive walking to recompose and realign myself. A sunny spring day can alleviate the worst of worries.
On my way into the forest I stumbled upon a deaf adder sunbathing on the pavement. A pretty sizeable specimen.
Fun fact: it's not a snake! Technically it's "legless lizard".
Further into the forest I thought I had found a morel mushroom. Yes, finally some fungi again!
Upon further inspection it turns out to be a false morel, a gyromitra esculenta to be precise.
Morels are pretty sought for mushrooms, but alas, these are the much less palatable fake ones. Still looks pretty awesome, though!
Fake morels, fake snakes, but a real great walk.
Thanks for your time!

Legless lizard? My new animal of the day.
lol... it even says so on it's wikipedia page:
and actually now that I double checked, "legless lizards" even have their own wikipedia entry
