One of the consequences of Dutch colonialism in Indonesia was the occurrence of mixed marriages between Dutch and Indonesians.

Typically, mixed marriages that occured were between Dutch men and Indonesian women. This was because most of the Dutch soldiers and officers who were sent to Indonesia were men.

This photo shows the acculturation of culture and genetics through marriage between colonialists and their colonies.
