The definition and concept of history has been distorted in recent times. As a whole, the world is quite primitive. It's only a few centuries ago that humans even began to record their own history.
Even if we take into account more ancient historical cultures (eg Egyptian) which developed writing systems thousands upon thousands of years ago, they still lack any real notion of history as we know it.
Before then, we had little understanding of the past. They were mostly concerned with their own immediate survival and present time living conditions.
