During a time when my dog was still alive and I still had a place to call home, we frequently embarked on hiking expeditions.
This particular hike, among the many we undertook, commenced in the early hours and continued throughout the whole day.
We explored the enchanting trails of the Remstal Valley situated to the east of Stuttgart, where panoramic views of the valley and its ancient settlements awaited us.
Occasionally, we would pause and I would retrieve my portable stove from my backpack, allowing us to indulge in a brief cooking session before resuming our journey.
Although I never managed to complete the entire trail within a single day, as it proved to be too long and I preferred not to spend the night outdoors, I found solace in the availability of hotels, albeit at somewhat exorbitant prices. On a separate occasion, in the Black Forest, I indulged in multi-day hikes and slept under the stars, but that tale belongs to another time.
My heart aches for my departed canine companion, prompting me to share this nostalgic photograph that resurfaced whilst perusing my collection of old pictures.
