In Burkina Faso, in the northeast part of Africa, there was a terrible attack on a church on Sunday. During the church service, 15 people were killed and two were hurt in a village called Essakane, which is near Mali. People think the attackers might be Islamist fighters, but the government hasn't said anything yet.
The leader of the church in that area, Abbot Jean-Pierre Sawadogo, said that 12 people died right away and three more died after being taken to the hospital.
Everyone was asked to say a prayer by the church leader for those who passed away, for the injured ones to get better, and for those that are sad to be comforted . About numerous attacks related to this have been happening in Burkina faso as of recent times as Islamic fighters are trying to take over some part of the country.
These Islamic fighters are related to big terrorist organization like al-Qaeda and Islamic State, and a lot of people has been forced to leave their homes by this terrorist.
Churches has also been attacked in recent timesheet and are killing people there.
Burkina Faso's government, which the military runs, decided to leave a group of countries called Ecowas, along with Mali and Niger. They left because it was obvious that they weren't getting enough help to fight against these terrorists. These countries had already been told to stop being part of the group until they let people vote for their leaders again.
The president of Burkina Faso, who is supported by the military, said they might ask Russian soldiers to come help fight the terrorists if they need to.
