MEEKNESS.

Meekness is the ability to be meek. It means to be humble, modest, submissive, descriptive or of broken will.
To be meek is to be void of one's knowledge and cleave to the knowledge of God which is of Christ.
To be meek is to be contrite in spirit. Coming to the understanding that only from him can you find rest. To be meek is to know that all your labour according to your own understanding can not make you attain your desired height in God. Unless you labour according to the pattern which Christ has laid for us.
To be meek is to forsake all for God,not having a hinge of the world embedded in your heart.

Meekness also means having the understanding that no matter the knowledge you have acquired I'm Christ, there is still more to acquire. When you mourn you are meek. You automatically saying to God that you have no power or will of your own.
Meekness will make you honour God and respect all men irrespective of the status quo of that fellow. As m7ch as it is essential for you to guide your heart with all diligence.

Ephesians 4:2 With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;
Galatians 6:1 Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.
Titus 3:2 To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men.

Meek will make you receive God's word with simplicity.without meekness, you cannot receive the things of God. James 1:21 Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls. Meekness shows that you are a wise man.

James 1:21 Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.
James 3:13 Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.

Meekness is a matter of the heart. It is a spiritual fruit that is to be reflected outside as a result of its work in one's heart. It shows that the work of sanctification is at work in your heart knowing that it is not your work but it is based on the fact that mercy has been shown unto you. 1 Peter 3:15.

Learn meekness.

Our walk with God is to be based on we conforming to the image of the son of God. We are to be like Christ in all our ways. He is our standard and we must not fall short this standard. We just keep pressing until we are measured in accordance to this standard. He is the light and we must be in the same way the light of the world. Light begets Light. I was talking about labour. When you labour in accordance to your own knowledge, then it is sure that it becomes a burden that weary you. There is a labour you must labour and rest is assured.
Now back to the business of the day. You can only learn meekness from the Lord Jesus Christ who is the standard for them that are called. You can only learn how to labour in the right way through our Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus is easy to please. All he is saying is that you come unto him.

LEARN OF CHRIST AND YOU WILL BE MEEK*

Benefits of meekness.

  1. The Lord is sure to guide the meek.

Psalms 25:9 The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way.

  1. He will teach the meek his ways. He will help them learn of him provided they are willing to come unto him. Peace is guaranteed as a result of the rest that has been acquired.

  2. The meek shall be lifted. A man who is not meek dwells in wickedness. It is only the ones who had chosen to be meek that shall be lifted.
Psalms 147:6 The LORD lifteth up the meek: he casteth the wicked down to the ground

  3. The joy of the meek knows no bound. This Joy comes as a result of the good tidings that is ministered even unto them.
Isaiah 29:19 The meek also shall increase their joy in the LORD, and the poor among men shall rejoice in the Holy One of Israel.

Having been said all that, meekness comes with loads of benefits just to mention a few.

Meekness is a commandment from God. It is a sure way to know that you are following him. Meekness is having a power that is under the control of the one who owns power. It is not weakness, it is strength under control.

Matthew 11:29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

Zephaniah 2:3 Seek ye the LORD, all ye meek of the earth, which have wrought his judgment; seek righteousness, seek meekness: it may be ye shall be hid in the day of the LORD's anger.

When I was lost in Italy, after my travelling companion made off with my wallet, passport and bank cards, I was drawn to sit in a cafe/reading room for esoteric/religious texts, I had a small amount of cash that I had kept in my pocket that was not taken, and bought a cup of tea and connected to their wifi and checked my facebook messenger.

My dear friend Pieter, a dutchman who lives in Lviv, Ukraine, to a very talented concert pianist, sent me this bible quote:

Philippians 4:6-7 (New International Version)

6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

I realised that this relates to the First Commandment - to not worship any other (no man, no idol, no fake god) than God. As an aside, I believe this includes deifying Jesus, which is a pagan doctrine that was originally promoted by the Catholic church. I believe it is false that God is not merciful and that we must use Jesus as an intermediary, but rather, that he is a model to follow, just like you say.

After this gift from God, my heart was greatly relieved. I started to regularly talk to God exactly as this verse explains to do, and all sorts of amazing things happened. The most striking example was when I was leaving Bologna, 'something' told me to stop and wait for a minute.

Then a car pulls up in front of the little country house by the side of the crazy little 2 lane main road I was walking on, partly I was just a little unnerved by the lack of adequate space for me to pass the sharp curves up ahead, but then the thought entered my head that I should stop.

Out of the car, a nice old italian lady came out, I had been completely without money at that point, and scavenging food wherever I could find it, mainly in bins along the sides of streets.

She invited me into the house, and introduced me to the other family members who were in the house, fed me an authentic pasta with real bolognaise, gave me a glass of home-brewed wine from their vinyard, and sent me away with a bag full of food that kept me going for the next day.

It was a miracle, truly, and I attribute it entirely to having opened myself up to hear His guidance. This one event cemented my faith permanently. The praying gave me great tranquility, alone, but when you hear the voice and it tells you the future, you cannot be in any doubt any more that the voice is the voice of God.

Meekness is vitally important. You can't have faith and be full of pride at the same time. We must have some pride, or we would just lay down and die, but if we are full of pride, we won't listen to the voice either.

Wow! God bless you my brother. Thank you for stopping by. I learnt a lot from this reply. It's insightful
