Romans 8:1-8 KJV
[1] There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
[2] For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
[3] For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
[4] That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
[5] For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
[6] For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
[7] Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
[8] So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

There is no condemnation for people who are in Christ. That is the privilege and comfort that we have in Christ. This does not mean that we will not be chastened of the Lord but we will not be condemned with the world. Because we do not walk after the flesh but the Spirit, we are secured through faith in Christ.

The law cannot sanctify us or justify us. It cannot also free us from the power and the guilt of sin. The law cannot make us perfect, it is weak. It is the grace that we have in Christ that gives us pardon, the grace sets us free from the law of sin and death. It also free us from the guilt and power of sin brought to us by law.

Jesus Christ did what the law cannot do. Jesus was sent by God to die for us in the likeness of a sinful man. Our lives are governed by different rules of law and regulations. However, the grace we have in Christ has set us free from law of sin, self and death. We are not only liberated from law of sin but we also have the power to know and do the will of God.

The penalty for all our sins which include past, present and future have been paid for by the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. The question now is that; have you been recruited into the family of God to enjoy the benefits of the infilling of the Spirit?

Believers are set free from the power of sin to live unto God in Christ by the Spirit. To be carnally minded is death but to be controlled by the Spirit is life and peace. Make every effort to ask what Jesus Christ will do at every point of decision making.

May God help us not to be carnally minded but be led by the Spirit in Jesus Name. Amin
