2 Corinthians 5:16-21 KJV
[16] Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more.
[17] Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
[18] And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
[19] To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
[20] Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.
[21] For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
I once heard a story of a devoted Christian brother who allowed himself to be taken in place of his twin brother who was an armed robber facing firing squad for his cumulated offences. He gave up himself so that his brother will have another opportunity to give his life to Christ. This is a genuine love and as this Christian brother gave himself up to give his twin brother another chance to start all over again, so did Jesus Christ gave a new life to all that believe in Him.
Everyone that is born again is a new creature with a new hearth. The soul of that individual is greatly changed by grace of God. Every new creature must have done away with old things such as old thoughts, old principles and old practices. A new life is created by regenerating grace, therefore all things are new. The renewed man is being guided by new principle and new rules and keep new company.
We all need to reconcile with God because we are born with a sinful nature. God is willing to reconcile with us despite of our sin. God has reconciled the world to Himself through Jesus Christ and He has put Himself in a capacity of being actually reconciled to offenders.
We need to be reconciled with God just as God is willing to be reconciled to us. Our reconciliation to God is only through Jesus Christ and once we are reconciled to Him through Christ, it is our responsibility to represent Him well. As Christ ambassadors, we need to be influencing people everywhere by leading them to Christ.
Repentant sinners are seen through Christ’s righteousness. His righteousness covers and overshadows our sins. Since God sees you through Christ, you should also make efforts to see others through Him.
May God help us to see other through Him.
