Colossians 2:1-10 KJV
For I would that ye knew what great conflict I have for you, and for them at Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh; [2] That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ; [3] In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. [4] And this I say, lest any man should beguile you with enticing words. [5] For though I be absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, joying and beholding your order, and the stedfastness of your faith in Christ. [6] As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: [7] Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. [8] Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. [9] For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. [10] And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:
The branches of a tree will have enough fruits if it is well grafted to the trunk for a good flow of nutrient to the branches. Branches that are not well positioned will not get good nourishment and it will not produce good and quality fruit. At the end of the day, any branch that is fruitless will be removed, dried up and burnt.
As Christians who have received Christ Jesus into our lives, we have to stand against the enticing words of the devil and be aware of people that will entice us to any evil. The evil people have no other aim but to spoil us. As we have received Christ Jesus as our Lord and savior, we need to walk with Him, be rooted and be built up in Him.
We have to walk with Him daily and communion with Him. We will be more rooted and established in the faith if we closely work with Christ. The more firmly we walk with Him and the more closely we walk with Him, the more we flourish. We must be established in faith as we have been taught.
We have to be careful of things that are not from Christ that people will bring to us like philosophy, vain deceit, tradition, and so on so that we will not be spoiled.
Are you living in Christ and well rooted to receive the fullness of God’s blessing for your life and all your endeavours?
In Christ, all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hidden. The fullness of God dwells in Christ and we should all make effort to access the fullness of God through Christ.
I pray that God will give us the grace to always access the fullness of God’s blessings, values and virtues in Jesus name. Amen.
