Obesity is a serious health condition

Yesterday I met a friend of mine who is around 95 kgs. She is a very young girl in her early 30s and has a family history of obesity. Obesity is a very common health issue and it is a very serious one as well, it gives many health issues, rather most of the health issues are connected with obesity. That does not mean that thin people do not have health issues, but the health conditions of obese people are far severe than normal ones, and also the recovery from any ailment takes time.

Time and again I have been talking with this girl about her weight issues. She does not have a very healthy diet, but when I talk to her and evaluate her diet it's filled with all the unhealthy carbs as much as possible. She eats very little but she eats almost everything unhealthy, and most of her meals are outside or ready to eat food. This is what I always talk about. Processed food are the most unhealthy foods for the body. They are full of high level of unhealthy sugar, sodium and fat, which when we eat tastes very good but they bring a lot of harm to the body. They are addictive as well so we keep craving for more. She has good amount of bread consumption, so that's again not good. She has the aerated drinks, which I suppose should be completely banned from the market. And on top of all of this, she barely does any kind of physical fitness. No wonder, the obesity issue is going to be there. And the longer you let it be the fat cells get stored in the body, making them rigid to break down.

Last year when my husband was down with Myasthenia Gravis, he was put on high level of steroids for a long time and still a small dosage of it continues. Which makes him gain weight and to work on that I have to take so much of effort. It is difficult and it is a constant work on self which one has to do, else obesity takes over very easily.

During this festival time, we end up have so much of sweets. Anyone who comes home brings a box of sweets. I always tell everyone who come to visit me, to not bring any sweets, else that will directly go in the dustbin. Still people do not listen and they bring. That's how our lifestyles are. When I visit someone's place I make it a point to take something healthy like nuts. Yesterday we few friends had met up over high tea to work on the Cancer awareness program at Hyat Hotel. We had asked the F&B manager to arrange for Tea and some snacks. What they had to offer was everything possible unhealthy. They gave us a plate full of Deserts and a plate full of Sandwiches and Burgers. I had to return it all back just the way it came. Then I called their F&B manager and asked him as to do they not put a thought around of serving something healthy to their customers. He said he will look into it, but I am sure they will continue doing the same.

This is what they brought for all of us. Our mistake was that we did not check with them on what they would serve, we left it on them to decide thinking it's a big brand Hotel and they will be mindful of what they would serve.

Eating unhealthy food is very common and normal these days without any realization. Today I am going to meet my friend again and speak to her at length on her weight issues and give her some guidance to help her lose weight. It's not about how much we eat but what we eat is the most important. Between me and hubby I eat much more then him, and some people get amused looking at my dish and my size. Because they think I must be a very small eater since my weight is less. But that's not the case. I do not binge into any junk foods, very controlled sugar and no unhealthy carbs. I have my set time to eat and follow an intermittent fasting pattern. I do regular detox, which helps cleanse the toxins. It's easy to get caught up in all the fancy things but one has to be determined and understand what's more important.

Thank you for visiting my blog. 👼🏻👼🏻💖💖🌹🌺🌸

Eating unhealthy food is very common and normal these days without any realization.

Poor dietary habits have/will kill, more people than all the wars put together.

In the days of the internet there really is no excuse - only excuses.
(is it a culturally acceptable form self loathing?..)

Some people don't want help, or not willing to put the effort into research for themselves...again, it smacks to me, of a 'cultural demoralization' - the consequences of decadence and privilege ? (imo, it is)

....if people are too lazy to look after themselves, (with plenty of information available), I don't bother anymore.
....it ain't rocket science, its pretty simple.

'You can't fix stupid' is unfortunately a line that I find myself using more and more these days...sad but true.
