On Thursday I got to know about a wellness camp being organized at one of the city malls. I decided to visit and check out what exactly it was and the services they offered. I must say it was a very nice initiative to bring awareness to people under different circumstances of health issues and hazards. Some informative talks were also given by a few speakers on daily hygiene and self-care. It was organized right at the entrance of the mall, so it got everyone's attention who entered the mall. I think such initiatives are important as it brings lot of awareness.
This particular booth was sharing information on how to deal with a situation of burns at home, what safety measures has to be taken and the first aid kit that everyone must have at home to handle such scenarios. Burn is a common issue at home, specially for females working in the kitchen. It is not necessary a big burn scenario but even something like touching a very hot utensil and burning your fingers or coming in contact with some cleaning agent which can cause burn and skin rash. So there are many scenarios to talk about in this first-aid.
There were also a team of Doctors who were giving consultations.
To make it more engaging there was an area for kids entertainment.
It was good to see people taking interest in such events.
I went around and spoke to a few people, got some handouts which were informative and then visited the mall just to have a look around.
