There is nothing to say than for me to just keep thanking God for keeping me alive till today. Around this time last year, I was on the sick bed trying to come back to life. Thanks God for life.
Before what happened last year, I have never been sick to the extent of getting admitted in the hospital. But last year, I was admitted for the first time and guess what? I was not even sick, I went for tooth extraction and it led to complications.
It happened on the 6th of December last year. Prior to that day, I was given appointment to come for the extraction 6th of December. I will never forget that day in my life.
I left early in the morning to the hospital for the extraction after eating well because I was told that I will not be able to eat for some hours after the extraction. I got to the hospital at around 10:00am on that faithful day and I went to retrieve my file and did all other necessary things.
The operation started at around 11:00am and took about an hour. After the operation, I was asked to wait for some time for the bleeding to stop. Though I noticed that the bleeding was too much while the operation was going on but the doctors acted as if all was well.
After like an hour waiting for the bleeding to stop, I was told I can go and I was given drugs to use. I was told to always swallow my spit which I was doing after I left the hospital. Unknown to me, I was swallowing my blood cos the bleeding did not stop.
I tried to rest when I got home and after like 30 minute when I woke up, I discovered that I was so weak because I had lost almost all my blood. I immediately called one of my neighbors to get me a cab to take me back to the hospital. I started vomiting blood on my way to the hospital and the blood was so much that I was scared and thought I have vomited all my blood.
When we got back to the hospital, a friend of mine that followed me helped me out of the car and after taking two steps, I signaled to that my friend that I can't walk again. That was the last thing I remembered and I was unconscious for like an hour before I came back to life. The next thing I saw when I opened my eyes was doctors running up and down and I was already at the emergency unit of the hospital
The next thing I saw was needles entering me everywhere. They were given me drip and trying to check my blood level. I was told I will collect blood but I did not collect blood at the end of the day. I was later taken back to theater and I spent another 4 hours there during which doctors were trying to stop the bleeding.
I was place on admission that night and left hospital the following day. I was also unable to talk for like two weeks after the operation. I wrote a full story about the whole thing that happened after I was OK and you can read it here
I thank God for everything, it over a year now and I am still alive to share the testimony today. I want to also say thank you to every steemians that joined me to thank God when I shared the post,
