The transmission of Covid-19 is still happening in Indonesia today. The government even reported that the number of new cases of the corona virus increased by 57,049 on Tuesday (15/2).
This figure is the highest record during the Covid-19 pandemic that hit Indonesia. Previously, the most daily cases were recorded on July 15, 2021, namely 56,757 people.
West Java Province contributed the highest daily number of cases, namely 14,058 people. Below that are DKI Jakarta with 9,482 new patients and East Java with 7,528 new cases.
Today's daily positive cases were obtained from the examination of 358,270 people. This means the reported positive ratio of the corona virus has reached 15.9%. Meanwhile, the death toll of Covid-19 patients today also increased by 134 people. The highest number today came from DKI Jakarta, namely 50 patients died.
The number of recovered Covid-19 patients today also increased by 26,747. The highest number of daily recoveries came from DKI Jakarta, which was 9,103 patients. The government also reported that the number of active corona cases today increased by 30,168 to 406,025 people. In addition, there are also 35,594 people who currently have the status of Covid-19 suspects. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health stated that patients who have comorbidities and have not received complete vaccinations are the biggest victims of Covid-19. Data from the Ministry of Health for the period from January 21 to February 8 2022 shows that of the 487 Covid-19 patients who died, 66% of them had not been fully vaccinated.
Spokesperson for Vaccination at the Ministry of Health, Siti Nadia Tarmizi, said the government continued to fight to prevent more victims by encouraging vaccination. "Vaccination, especially for the elderly, people with comorbidities, and children must be accelerated and expanded."
