It's pretty clear by now (and should have been clear in 2019) that the opposite is true as criminals do not care how strict weapon laws are.
Criminals will carry knifes and sometimes guns no matter how stringent those weapons laws are. Criminals will break the law. Breaking the law is what defines a criminal.
Strict weapon laws make everybody less save as it turns law abiding citizens into defenceless victims.
Australia is stupid we can't do anything anymore without breaking some silly law or rule😠
