I could spend the whole day researching the Cosmos Ecosystem and still there won't be enough time to learn more about it. The accelerated development in every corner of Cosmos is beyond my capacity to load myself with lots of information. Info overload in a good way I guess ;)
About 2 weeks ago, I started LPing into Osmosis and I'm really glad that I've done it as early as possible. The rewards have been pretty nice IMHO and I believe it won't last that long. A week from now, many of the Cosmos users who started unbinding their on-chain stakes will flock into Osmosis and will be LPing as well. They will saturate the pools which will abruptly impact the rewards on major pools. Well, that's how Defi platforms work.
That's why platforms like Osmosis are something that I really want to talk about in recent weeks. To let the people who follow me here learn about the amazing opportunity as an early adopter of Osmosis.
With the success of Osmosis in terms of community adoption, I think that Gravity Dex will have a much bigger impact on the Cosmos Ecosystem. It's especially true for ATOM holders since they will benefit greatly from the launch of Gravity Dex. A portion of the transaction fees for Gravity Dex will be rewarded to ATOM holders.
With Osmosis alone, there are almost 16,000 IBC transactions in the past 2 weeks. Imagine what Gravity Dex can pull off on their first week of launch. If I remember correctly, there are about 25,000 participants in the Gravity Dex Testnet launch in May of this year.
Now that more and more Cosmos Hub blockchains are upgrading their network to adopt IBC (Inter-Blockchain Communication), I could only assume that IBC transactions will grow exponentially in the coming days. And since Centralized Exchange listing is getting more and more difficult and controversial. The new projects in the Cosmos Hub will prefer Decentralized Exchanges like Osmosis and Gravity Dex.
It also means that providing liquidity will also be a big thing in the Cosmos Ecosystem.
IMHO, Osmosis and Gravity Dex is just the beginning. And it will be a good idea to participate as early as possible, take advantage of the early high APY rewards, and capitalize it before the DeFi boom in the Cosmos Hub ignite!
Luckily, Osmosis and Gravity will be different enough not to just ho head to head. Gravity will improve on the uniswap-style algorithm, with better performance and more controlled price slippage. However, arbitrage traders love that uniswap sucks! That's how they make their money. We shall see whether better means more trades.
In contrast, Osmosis is more experimental, and allows devs to create innovative pools. There may be some new formulas tested out there ;-)
True! I'd like to see if "better means more trades as well".
I'm basically leaving BSC Defi for Osmosis & Gravity Dex, and I believe that there will be more users that will realize that Cosmos Defi will offer better outcomes for them. It's easy and it's on-chain, no centralized exchanges for users like me who have accumulated enough Cosmos Hub coins to participate in this venture.
By the way... Persistence's Liquid Staking & Osmosis' Super Fluid Staking are around the corner, more reasons to stake ATOM and LP OSMO ;)
