There has been so much on my to do list to accomplish and the list still keeps getting longer. Last week with some of my friends we were discussing about doing some adventure trip. This has been on my mind for quite some time of doing a trek to the Everest Base Camp. It's not a very difficult trek, nor is it a very easy one. Also depends on the trek route, there are options of doing it from moderate to hard. There are no easy options for sure. Well, it's such an excitement for me, because we have finally confirmed that along with a few of my friends next April I will be doing the trek to the Everest Base Camp. It will be such an accomplishment for me to do this. It is going to be my 50th birthday next year and I want to gift myself this particular adventure.
People think that as we age our physical capabilities go down, but that's not how I think. I believe that it's all in our mind and we can achieve whatever we want at any age. Again, it cannot just happen without any efforts, to do it one has to prepare themselves for it. I have to prepare myself physically and mentally to do this trek. The trek completes at an altitude of 5500 mtrs. This also means that the oxygen supply is pretty low on that height. One has to acclimatize gradually with this altitude. The trek happens over a period of 9 days gradually moving up and getting acclimatized at different altitudes.
Right now, it's just the planning phase, we are still looking out for options on the best deal. We have been able to gather some information where the deals start from 800 $ to 1800$ with all the possible options. This trip is not going to be easy on the pocket also as there are too many additional charges besides the basic trek cost, but I want to make it work as economically as possible. I had 2 options in mind for next year on my 50th. Either to do the EBC trek or visit the Amazon which is also my dream to go and spend a few days in the Amazon Rainforest and also visit Machu Pichu which is considered to be a spiritual hub. I have finalized on the EBC trek for now and the Amazon I will do it at a later time soon.
This trek is just not going to be about financially preparing myself but also physically preparing myself and accomplishing my goal in life.
