Do you remember the Greenman on Steemit.com ?
There was this guy called @Greenman on Steemit. He was a huge whale over there. He is also a whale here on Blurt. He is a Canadian Bitcoin millionaire, Entrepreneur who travels the World. Mostly Mexico, Costa Rica, and South America ...
He had this thing set up on Steemit.com called Direct to Vendor Charity where people could send him liquid Steem... say 10 Steem and he would convert to the local currency where he was and hand out cash to street vendors .... at random... he would post photos handing money to people living on the streets.
Many were in tears. .... then he would upvote your post or comment for 100 Steem or more ...
I wonder what ever happened to @Greenman ?
It was a great concept.
He was a Righteous Dude.
He distributed over $1,300 USD to people in need. I think he should win a Nobel Prize.... he was downvoted by all the jealous Steemit- Hive whales.
It was a great use of crypto to lift people out of poverty.
For a brief moment in time 10 Steem was around $50 USD .... do you know how many people he made happy handing them 1,000 pesos on the Streets of Mexico City ?
He made so many people happy. Especially for Christmas in 2018.
He was the Real Santa Claus.
$5 / Steem...those were the days
Yeah..I sure am glad I sent a bunch to be converted to Mexican pesos to help people buy food and stuff..... what a waste to hold and watch drop to 10 pennies.
So all the Steem whales went after him? I was only Steemit for a bit, but felt the whole downvote / ganging up thing was ridiculous - as you said, Blurt like a better decentralized format currently
Yeah. They didn’t like him upvoting comments at 100% ? I don’t know what the deal was. All those whales moved to Hive so maybe he could start it up again on Steemit ... or here on Blurt.
