Pruning

in gardening •  2 years ago

The last few days I have spent pruning our plants. They were getting out of form and some even got damaged by harsh summer sun. I love working on plants and the last few days I have done only that.

I almost cut my finger but apart from that nothing bad really happened.

Half of the plants in the nursery were grown by us either from seeds or from cuttings. It is a good experiment checking out different plants and how we can multiply them. The old nursery was big and we had plenty of space. We made our own plants and it gave us bigger margins.

The new nursery is smaller so we can't store many plants.

One of my favourite plants that I was successful in multiplying was the ZZ plant but it took like a year for it to grow big enough to sell.

I'll be pruning it too and give a good shape before I sell it to customers.

I am not formally trained in gardening or in nursery. I have learnt it all from watching others work, or on YouTube. I do not use many chemicals as I want to keep it all organic and natural.

The only time I use chemicals is when we get insects and bugs attacking the plants and then there is no choice but to use chemical insecticides.
