Saludos a todos los miembros de la comunidad, ¿cómo están? En mi hogar desafortunadamente no tengo un lugar donde podría tener un jardín puesto que no hay espacio donde se pueda siquiera armar uno, al menos, no uno convencional, de los que tienen propiamente la tierra en el suelo. Sin embargo, sí tengo plantas y como me encanta hablar de ellas, quise compartir la historia de superación digna de algún tipo de película que ha protagonizado dos de mis cactus desde hace un tiempo. Mis gatos no son unos muy buenos cuidadores de las plantas, digamos que su curiosidad ha hecho un desastre de ellas siempre que son de las primeras en encontrarse con el suelo después de sus constantes exploraciones, así que se podrán imaginar por lo que han atravesado las inocentes.
Greetings to all the members of the community, how are you? In my home unfortunately I don't have a place where I could have a garden since there is no space where you can even build one, at least, not a conventional one, one of those that have the soil in the ground. However, I do have plants and since I love to talk about them, I wanted to share the story of overcoming some kind of movie worthy story that has starred two of my cacti for some time now. My cats are not very good caretakers of plants, let's just say that their curiosity has made a mess of them whenever they are among the first to encounter the soil after their constant explorations, so you can imagine what the innocent ones have gone through.
El primer encontronazo que se llevó el cactus más grande fue no solamente encontrarse con el suelo, sino que le pasaran por encima, por lo que quedó maltratado a un punto en donde la ramificación que se había formado como un pequeño hijo pues resultó prácticamente separado antes de tiempo… esto me estresó demasiado, no quería que la primera planta que tuviese resultase en un fracaso, pero me sorprendí al encontrarme con que después de separar esa parte y plantarla de nuevo a su lado esta no se murió, comenzó a crecer poco a poco. Esa fue la prueba de que no debía subestimar a los cactus cuando pasaran a través de adversidades, ya que estaban demostrando mucha resistencia de adaptación y regeneración, tomando en cuenta que el hueco que se le hizo al cactus principal de igual manera de cerró con el paso del tiempo.
The first encounter that the biggest cactus had was not only to meet the ground, but to be passed over, so it was badly damaged to a point where the branch that had formed as a small son was practically separated before time... this stressed me too much, I did not want the first plant to be a failure, but I was surprised to find that after separating that part and planting it again next to it, it did not die, it began to grow little by little. That was the proof that I should not underestimate the cactus when going through adversities, since they were demonstrating a lot of resilience of adaptation and regeneration, taking into account that the hole that was made in the main cactus also closed with the passage of time.
En ese mismo lugar donde había empezado a crecerle aquella ramificación al cactus más grande comenzó a formarse uno nuevo después de meses, en un principio tenía dudas porque no estaba viendo demasiado progreso, me preguntaba a decir verdad si se había muerto teniendo en cuenta que crecen con esta lentitud y queda siempre esa duda sobre si no estarán creciendo porque se está haciendo algo equivocado respecto a su cuidado, pero esas dudas quedan atrás una vez se ve que le están creciendo ramificaciones nuevas. Para mi desgracia mis gatos también encontraron una manera de llegar hasta donde estaban para estropearlas de nuevo, en esta oportunidad, el cactus de mayor tamaño terminó como con un mordisco en la parte que estaba recién creciendo y noté que este se había frenado.
In that same place where that branch had started to grow to the biggest cactus a new one began to form after months, at first I had doubts because I was not seeing much progress, I wondered to tell the truth if it had died considering that they grow so slowly and there is always that doubt about if they are not growing because something wrong is being done regarding their care, but those doubts are left behind once you see that they are growing new branches. To my misfortune my cats also found a way to get to where they were to spoil them again, this time, the larger cactus ended up with a bite on the part that was just growing and I noticed that it had slowed down.
De nuevo, había pensado que ya no crecería por el trauma de lo que había pasado y por eso no se estaba desarrollando, eso sí, sin dejar de cuidarla en lo absoluto con la esperanza de que en algún momento se mejorara. Me sentía resignada al ver que no se estaba cerrando la parte abierta expuesta, honestamente, después de que había visto cómo se le cerró la abertura anterior, esperaba que hubiese pasado lo mismo con esta, pero no pasaba. La grata sorpresa vino cuando me di cuenta que se empezaban a formar no solamente una ramificación, sino dos, una por cada lado que había quedado sobresaliendo, por lo que me resulta algo cómico en términos estéticos, aunque eso será siempre lo de menos, importa es que sigan creciendo sin importar las circunstancias por mucho tiempo hasta ser tan grandes como puedan.
Again, I had thought that it would no longer grow because of the trauma of what had happened and that is why it was not developing, although I did not stop taking care of it at all in the hope that at some point it would get better. I felt resigned when I saw that the open exposed part was not closing, honestly, after I had seen how the previous opening had closed, I had hoped that the same would have happened with this one, but it was not. The pleasant surprise came when I realized that not only one but two branches were beginning to form, one on each side that had been left sticking out, which I find somewhat comical in aesthetic terms, although that will always be the least of it, the important thing is that they continue to grow regardless of the circumstances for a long time until they are as big as they can be.
