Anarchy Online is a MMORPG that debuted in 2001. While there have been expansions and add-ons, the original game is still there and you can even play it for free. There is a gaming engine redesign currently ongoing but until that is complete, the only improvements to the game engine have been relatively minor.
Anarchy Online is one of the oldest and longest lasting massively multiplayer online games. It is a sci-fi themed game and has four different types of characters along with a skill system of the type common with these types of games. Anarchy Online isn't the most well known of its genre but it's a solid game and worth trying if you like these kinds of games. And for now, you can still play it for free.
