Investing During SPS Bloodbath + Burning 266 Cards

Despite the continued new All Times Lows for SPS, we are seeing new changed to @splinterlands that can help it become a better game. Some of these measures are going to have negative results for the short term. I do not have the clairvoyance to say what the outcome of each change is going to be. What we can all see for sure is that there are steps being taken to make the game better. What is lacking at the moment is a strong marketing campaign. That is not as bad of a thing for the time being.

We Need Players Who Will Stick Around

We used to have around half a million players which is ~20X of what we are seeing at the moment. There is a small yet steady influx of signups. The problem is that 99% of them don't purchase a Spellbook. The statistics are taken from @peakmonsters and these are the results for the past month. Since purchasing a Spellbook is a financial commitment, those who buy in may stick around for some time at least because of the sunk cost.

The New Player Experience that is in the works should create a better onboarding experience that can have better conversion rates. Once there is a high conversion coupled with longer retention of players, it will be a good time to go all out on marketing. At the moment there are blockchain gaming projects with 10X or even 20X the amount of followers @splinterlands has on Twitter. They can create more hype while a 6 year old game with much more depth get ignored.

These Are The Best Times To Invest

An investment is bet that an asset will be worth more in the future (this is inverted for shorts). Riding a trend is therefore not the best way to get a good ROI. Maximum profits can be gained by investing at the ATL and exiting the position at ATH. Do not waste your time trying to pick the exact bottom or top. Being close is good enough.

Trying To Grow My Reward Card Collection

These Cards will remain at least until they are out of print. Having more Max Level Cards is a considerable advantage in Battles. The only way to acquire more Chaos Legion Reward Cards is through gaining Glint through Chests, Battles or burning existing Cards. Idecided that the best course to take is burning excess Cards to get more Glint.

227 Common + 38 Rare + 1 Legendary

The result was that I got to try out more Draws (the current focus in Legendary Draws). I will try my best to make sure I get all the Legendary Cards to Level 4 before the next Edition is launched (which is supposed to happen in the summer). Due to the recent changes made to Wild Leagues, the Glint earnings have nearly halved. The positive is that SPS earnings have grown by around 50%.

There will be less Cards created as a result of lower Glint issuance. In few months time, Chaos Legion Reward Cards will have become deflationary. Owning a Max Level set of these will be an advantage for the Battles that come later and that would mean that I will be able to get a headstart at collecting the Rebellion Reward Cards.

Epic is The Least Complete
