My woven version of the Aves Sturgis card

I chose this card because I had always wanted to make an owl. I like these animals, as they symbolize wisdom and by reading its history, I discovered that Aves Sturgis is a shaman and leader of his species. Also, this card is an excellent ally in battles in the game, as it can give up half of its attack to another nearby card.

Let me share with you the materials I used to create this character:

Wool yarns in olive green, white, black and purple colors.
Crochet needle of 2.75 mm.
Silicone.
Copper wire.
Cutting pliers.
Tweezers.

I started by knitting the owl's body using the popcorn stitch, which consists of knitting five double crochet stitches in the same stitch and closing them all together. Using olive green yarn, I knit a magic stitch and five popcorn stitches inside it.

In the second round, I knit two popcorn stitches over each stitch of the previous round.

Next, I created the owl's wings using two 15 stitch chain stitches. Over these chain stitches, I knit 15 stitches that gradually increased and decreased to shape the wings. The stitches were distributed as follows 1 medium high stitch, 2 medium high stitches, 2 high stitches and 5 double high stitches, 2 high stitches, 2 medium high stitches and 1 medium stitch. I also completed the head with double high stitches. For the head I started with 10 triple high stitches, decreasing one by one until I reached the center. From there, the stitches started increasing until I reached the end.

Next, I created the eyes with white yarn. Starting from a magic ring, I knit six half stitches. In the center, I knit a stitch by wrapping the yarn in six loops around the needle and reinserting the needle, using black yarn to shape the iris of the eye. I also added arched eyebrows to capture the expression of the original card.

To make Aves Sturgis' cane, I used copper wire. I shaped it with the pliers and wrapped it with brown and purple thread, mimicking the design of the character's weapon.

And here is my replica of the Sturgis Birds card, this little owl with a hanging handle will be useful to decorate any library for the wisdom they represent, vehicles, even if we put a magnet on it, it can be used on the refrigerator, the place you prefer. I wish you all a wonderful day, see you soon! 👋❤️
