I will not deny that to an extent I am addicted to my phone. Most of my work is on the phone and because of that I keep checking my phone time and again. Also, I have all notification sounds turned off except for calling ringtone so when there's any message I do not know until I see it. But then there are times when I am hooked to it unnecessarily, especially if I have had a long and busy day then at the end of it, I like to spend some time on the phone just scrolling through reels and all. In that I can lose track of time and end up spending time more than necessary.
This is where I feel mindfulness is important to be in control of the time spent on it, because it's just not about the time but also the energy that goes in it. When I overspend time scrolling at night, I also see that morning when I wake up, I do not feel very fresh.
We have been hearing of all sorts of boundaries when it comes to relationships. I think we also have a very strong relationship with our gadgets and for that reason setting a digital boundary with it is also important and required in today's time and age of digital world.
Scrolling through reels can really make us lose track of our time, it's only with mindfulness and awareness we can break these addictions. I am constantly trying to do that, there are times when I succeed and times when I fail, but it's a gradual work around on myself.
