THE LITTLE WEBSITE THAT WOULDN’T FLY

Back in 2020 during the great New Zealand coronahoax lockdown I used to make a point of getting outside and going for a walk every day, and I also spent a lot of time chilling out at empty beaches on days when the weather was OK.

As a result of that I not only got much fitter, but also had lots of time to contemplate my navel and have endless brilliant ideas.

About 20 years ago I had a website called www.sift.co.nz where I used to semi-anonomously post lots of stuff that might potentially freak out customers, but over time I lost interest in trying to maintain different online identities, and just started being my non government approved self all over the place, all linked to my easily traceable “Frot” name.

I always liked the way the Sift site looked with it’s cool logo and big bold coloured fonts on a black background, which was quite unusual for it’s time, so the idea of revamping the old site was appealing. Much of the style of my current blog www.frot.co.nz that I set up later was copied from it so there are a lot of similarities.

My plan with the Mk2 Sift site was to keep the original style but just use it like a scrapbook with big galleries of images and copy and paste posts of other people’s content that I liked. Meanwhile I would keep using the Frot site for posting my original content.

At the start of 2022 I finally got around to updating it and wrote an intro page - https://www.frot.co.nz/design/sift/home/sift/

But it never really worked out – primarily because the hits were absolutely appalling – a new site that is mostly images and very little text gets very little traffic, so it did nothing for the instant gratification of my ego and I just wasn’t very motivated to do the work to get it off the ground. So it has sat there pretty much unused for the past eight months.

Yesterday I decided to give up my plan of one day getting around to making it awesome, and instead I’ll just copy most of the content as blog posts my www.frot.co.nz blog and put the Sift site in the too much work basket. I’ll hang onto the domain name though because I still like it.

One of the first galleries I’m planning to copy is “JAB REACTIONS” which is essentially a gallery of people who either died or became very ill after getting their death shots. And there are plenty more where those came from...

The nurse that collapsed 30 minutes after receiving the shot at a media event, speaking about the safe and effective .. and the hospital lied and the media as well claiming she wasn't dead despite her family saying otherwise.

Heart problems and cancer rates are going through the roof here in NZ now, exactly as we predicted. But I get no pleasure in being proven right, this is horrible to watch...

This has been the biggest red pill they could have envisioned, much like transjengas and the krane war.

Yes, Tiffany Dover. I followed that on Reddit. They ended up taking a group photo after to prove she was alive and turned out the woman they hoped to pass off as her was another employee at the hospital. Here is one of the threads I saved on it back then.

I built an online seed catalog of rare and unusual seeds back in 1996.
It was a drop shipping company. I learned HTML then created hundreds of pages for various flowers, plants, herbs, fruit trees etc and would receive checks by mail and then submit the order to a company in Mississippi that would ship the seeds and then I would send them 1/2 at the end of each month … it was great until the Competition put me out of business. Oh well…. It was a very good Side hustle until the dot com bubble burst and I moved back to Canada.

my old boss had one of the first 10 websites, it was a property sale website but no one used it lol, imagine if he had held onto it and now was the proud owner of rightmove, sometimes ppl are just ahead of their time!

What year was that? - I first started doing websites in 98 - that was about when they really took off and became mainstream

Oh god I can’t remember as he told me a while ago, but it was right at the beginning he said there were literally about ten websites or something and they were very basic and he did a property selling one but quit it cause no one used it lol

He’s done a few things like that too before his time
