Eight months ago, I sent a message to my childhood best friend's mom. Two days ago, she messaged me back. I called my best friend from 24 years ago and we talked for 2.5 hours. It was awesome! It is amazing to have friends who have had so many life experiences but still find a way to remain the same loveable person! I don't reach out to old friends very often (as you can see by the time gap here, though we did talk once a couple years back when my dad passed away). It took us 30 minutes to end the call because every time one of us was about to hang up, the other would say something that would trigger a thought/feeling/memory, etc. We decided that we needed to set a time at a regular interval (like once a month) to call.

I met up with a buddy from High school this summer … hadn’t seen him in over 20 years. But it was like we picked up where we left off when we last saw each other…. it was like we were back in grade 10 again. Like Time Travel….It’s great to get together with old friends.
I don't know what it is, psychologically, that builds that bond so tight, but I know it's just as true for me as it is for others. The funny thing is we don't agree on everything, but we agree on most everything. How crazy is it to meet someone in your teens who enjoys all the same stuff you do, thinks similarly, and with whom you build a solid connection, so solid that decades later you can pick up like nothing ever separated you two? I love it! I would think there are only so many special people out there that match me that well, but it can't be that few if so many people are able to find someone like that and have a similar relationship...it's mind blowing to me...
I die to see my old friends again especially in High School but due to my current condition I would just prefer to let them remember me when they last saw me @bobthebuilder
