*Calamansi Juice is the Filipino version of lemonade and limeade. It is super refreshing and best served ice cold.

*Calamansi juice is excellent with honey and sugar.
It is pretty similar to lemonade and just as refreshing.
It tastes like a lemonade-limeade hybrid, but more tropical and aromatic.
My parents would make me calamansi honey ginger tea whenever I had a sore throat as a kid.
And for as long as I can remember, I’ve been making calamansi juice ever summer.

Health benefits of calamansi:

  1. Makes skin lighter
Southeast Asian cultures often use Citrofortunella microcarpa on the outside of their bodies. Because the fruit is very acidic, it can get rid of dark spots, age spots, acne scars, and other marks on your face or body.
It has a lot of antioxidants and helps get rid of dead skin. This means that it can renew the cells in your skin, make the colour brighter, and help get rid of fine lines and wrinkles.

  2. Helps fight swelling
One of the best things about calamansi is that it helps your body fight inflammation. Like apple cider vinegar, calamansi is also full of anti-inflammatory tannins and helps to keep the acidity in your stomach at a normal level.

  3. Helps make collagen
Without collagen, nothing in our bodies would be where it should be, including muscles and skin. It is the main structural protein in our bodies that holds together the different types of tissue. Vitamin C is one of the most key nutrients for making collagen in your body.

  4. Makes the immune system stronger
Calamansi fruit has a lot of vitamin C, which is known to be the best vitamin for fighting viruses and keeping iron in the body. It also has a lot of calcium, potassium, and vitamin A.

  5. Reduces mucus
The citric acid in calamondin fruit helps break up phlegm and mucus in your lungs. It also helps with the pain and swelling in your throat and lungs.

  6. Regulates sugar level
Calamansi helps keep the levels of glucose and insulin in the blood at a healthy level. Plus, it helps keep cholesterol levels in check.

  7. Detoxifies your body
Calamansi flushes out the toxins that accumulate in your body. This helps your gallbladder, liver, colon, and kidneys feel better. Your skin, hair, and overall physical health will be affected.
