The New Inquisition - Canada First

in freedom •  3 years ago

This was posted yesterday by Jordan Peterson:

There is a longer group discussion on this issue here.

As Peterson is actually reading a script, let me post the first lengthy paragraph here. You can read or listen to it all at the above video link.

It [Bill 67] will make mandatory the subversion of the entire education system in Ontario (K-12 as well as colleges and universities) to the radically leftist doctrines known as critical theory--a thoroughly anti-western ideology, both post-modern and Marxist in its derivation, based on the idea that all our extant institutions are racist, sexist and discriminatory in their essence. Critical theorists assume that history is best understood as the war between identity groups, with one group always oppressing, and all other groups always victimized and exploited. Critical theorists dismiss the idea of the sovereign, free individual, claiming that belief in such sovereignty and freedom does nothing but justify the oppression and exploitation of the marginalized. In keeping with that rejection, such theorists assume that human identity itself is best understood at the group level, with markers of race, sex, so-called gender, and sexual preference dominating. Critical theorists reject the presumption of individual innocence absent proof of wrongdoing, assuming that membership in a group regarded as dominant and exploitative is sufficient to indicate the moral culpability of any given member of that group. Critical theorists define offense and harm as subjectively determined: anyone who feels victimized by any statement made by anyone for any reason is fully justified in their feeling and claim of harm, regardless of the intent of the author of the statement, who is then to be deemed guilty of such victimization, and denied even the opportunity for a reasonable defense. Bill 67 will mandate the creation of boards of inquisition in every educational institution, to which anyone who has an opinion or undertakes an action that is perceived to violate the tenets of critical theory will be made subject to punishment. [my italics]

This is the Inquisition. The virus of (un)critical theory will spread from Ontario to the rest of Canada, to what was once assumed to be the free world, now just a large pot of triggered self-indulgent slops.

To those of you who were silent during the skamdemic but who feel the sudden urge to wave the flag of a nation far away - look at your own house burning down.

Also, those of you looking forward to free basic income, it comes with obedience as mandatory. The prison comes first, then the gift is placed inside the prison. Clunk!

The last time Peterson opposed legislation in Canada, against a precursor to this madness, he was reviled among the left. The harm to him was very very real. Yet there are no laws against harming anyone who opposes leftist dogma. My gratitude to Peterson for putting himself on the front lines again.

A discussion about the differences between harm and hurt is very much in order. I brought one of hive's besties down on me with a simple comment that a man cat-calling might be a hurtful act, but it is not a harmful one.

Racism is kept alive by this shit.

I was actually looking to see if he had anything to say about the "basic income" leg.
But that one paragraph rather sums up the thought-tyranny invading the comfy-minds of the pampered west - actually, not really the "West" as such, the industrialised nations, but thats such a long word! The first world gets crushed first, coz the rest will be easy.

This is now weaponised relativism.
Nobody listened.

McCarthyism. An inquisition into a non-existent threat. Which in turn allows a very real threat to take form, although not from the direction we have been told to look.

All government controlled money, help, guidance, social programs, medical programs, etc are traps.

The entire west has gone collectively "insane" - I might live near the war zone, but would rather be here than near any lunatic western country teaching such abject drivel.

Maybe I will move to Poland then. It looks like Canada and USA are both doomed.

I tend to agree there.

Ok. I will look into our options to move to Poland.

I would, better weather and much cheaper place to live.

This is Very strange, the Current Government of Ontario is Right wing / leaning Conservative Party. Why would the Right wing (Republican/ Conservative) Party do such a thing ??? If the Conservative Party will do this then I guess it’s time to move back to Italy.

Totalitarianism has only one colour - the others are for theatre.
Italy? You're joking! Have a look at that asylum.
Sicily has never considered itself part of Italy ;-) But there you pay the gov and extra protection.

I have lots of land in Calabria. Right on the beach…. That has to be better than Canada right ?

Calabria is also dangerous - I hope you have family there! :-)
If that's an option I'd keep a close eye on how Italy develops.
Italy is not a coherent entity, with many semi-demi-autonomous regions. lol

I live here in Canada and we do have a problem with Racism. (prejudice, discrimination, antagonism directed against a person or people on the basis of their membership in a particular racial or ethnic group, typically one that is a minority or marginalized.

I think education regarding the problem of Racism, prejudice, discrimination is a good thing.

I am generally against Bullies in all their forms.

They forgot that what goes around comes around.

I don't care about their "self destruction" - it's the "others destruction" that I object to.
