This "¢10" of mine is steamed from the post of @imransoudagar ➡️Debating Downvotes vs No Downvotes with Hive Users.
As a user myself of the three platform, i find myself more comfortable here than the rest of the blockchain based social media. I still remember when blurt and hive was not yet born and as newbie to the web3 social media platform i experience the downside of downvote system. Being a plankton in the category (that time around 2017 only few youtube videos available and most explaination are not well explained for someone who just landed both in the platform as well as in the crypto world), although i understand very well its main purpose and goal yet as a new user i felt like being bullied instead of being taught the right way to become better, you are punished for some unintentional mistakes and even if intentional, we all make mistakes and everyone deserves a second chance. You can't assume that newbies will understand everything that they read from the FAQ section especially the most often mistake that a newbie could do which is the citation of the links.
Freedom ......Anyone?
Scenario:
Most of my friends that i onboarded from steemit and hive were afraid of posting contents here in blurt for the fear that their community will not support anymore if such member will support blurt and i am the living proof of this case just because i am here 🤣😃. Honestly, i felt like a child blackmailed that if i will take the candy i can't have the cake anymore were we could supposedly enjoy both. I found it funny though for they promote decentralization yet supresses freedom just because they are more powerful than you are.
