Now that the Pandemic is fading out.........

in freedom •  3 years ago

When the Covid scenes started we were all in a shock as to where the world was leading to. We all had plans then and suddenly seemed like life came to a standstill and we all started missing the old times. The times of our freedom, the times when we could travel freely, the times of meeting up with friends without any hesitation. We got locked indoors, social distance, mask, sanitizer were the words that we heard 24x7.
At that time we were all looking to our freedom times back again and we were all talking about that when things get back to normal what all will we do.

Well in some parts of the world now there are almost no restrictions, in some parts it still does exist, but at large now all countries have started lifting up all restrictions and getting things back to normal. This time when I travelled to India, I felt like Covid never existed here. Things are all back to normal. I attended a friend's wedding last week and that was also normal with a good amount of crowd attending the wedding. The clubs are open till late night as usual. All public places are open, Temples are all open and people are visiting it as normal. Cinema theatres are back to normal. There is no policing, like how I had experienced in my last visit. So overall I am not feeling any impact of Covid right now in India.

Back in Muscat also things are changing, they announced that the mask are no more mandatory in open spaces, and everything i opened up. One thing, that I have never followed right from the beginning is the wearing a mask, because I have never believed in the theory of wearing the mask as I have seen people wearing 2 and 3 masks also getting Covid.

The biggest relief that I have is on the travelling part. No more PCRs required for travelling provided you are double vaccinated. And if you are not vaccinated then also you can travel with a PCR test. So either ways there is an option to travel.

My Son and his team had filed a case against the Government on the Vaccination discrimination to travel in the local trains in the city. There was a ban that the unvaccinated cannot use the public transport train system. A few days back the Supreme court passed a judgement mentioning that there can be no discrimination made on Vaccination status and Government cannot stop anyone from using the public services based on vaccination status. This was a huge victory for my Son and his team.

With all of this we still do not know what the future will bring, because if they want they can keep bringing more and more pandemics and this might just be a temporary relief looking at the agitation of the people around the world. It may just be an eye wash to subside the world wide protests that are happening. But I am hoping and praying that now we do not again get into any such situation where our freedom and rights are at stake.

This year I am also planning a holiday and started planning for it for the month of Sept. It's still some time so I do not want to be too excited about it, but I will do my homework and plan up things. If the travelling part is smooth then September will be the time when I will do my dream holiday. My plan is to travel to Italy for 2 weeks and from there take a western Mediterranean cruise for a week. A total of 3 weeks of holiday. Though I am trying to keeping it cool but still I am looking forward to it eagerly. This holiday was a plan of 2020 for my 25th Anniversary, but it had to be scrapped off then and I am hoping that this year it will happen.

So what are your plans now that the pandemic is fading out......What are you looking forward to......
I am going to live my life each day to the fullest because the last 2 years has taught us many things and one most important is that life is very uncertain, make the most of it when you have the opportunity.
