Trudeau was unjustified in using violence against Freedom Convoy

Canada's highest court has ruled Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's use of martial law to end the Freedom Convoy protests was illegal, and violated the rights of Canadians. This comes exactly 2 years since Freedom Convoy rolled across Canada, from here in BC, to Ottawa in the East, inspiring hope during the darkest point in Covid lockdown madness.

During the first 2 months of 2022, the world's attention was fixed on Canada, as a grassroots protest against vaxxine mandates formed into a convoy of trucks aimed at the nation's Parliament buildings. (An excellent writeup on Freedom Convoy: here)

My video of Freedom Convoy in BC, starting their epic cross-country protest:

I celebrated Freedom Convoy 1 year ago, on the 1 year anniversary here.

Here's an announcement sent out by email to freedom groups here in BC last week:

The Covid response and attack on Freedom Convoy were all wrong

My daughter will turn 2 in a few weeks. She was born at the height of Freedom Convoy - the massive protest in Ottawa and dozens of regional protests, blockades, and convoys. She was born at the height of vaxxine passport and mask hysteria. She was born at the height of prejudice against people like myself and my wife, who refused the shot (which ultimately proved to be neither safe nor effective). She was born under marital law.

Protests I went to were slandered by the mainstream (state) media here. My group of local freedom-fighters was targeted, censored, shadowbanned, lied about, and more.

My wife gave birth and then had a mask slapped over her face. Even though she had a doctor's exemption from having to wear one. Even though she is crippled, partially paralyzed, and has reduced lung capacity. And even though she had just given birth by Cesarean section surgery.

My friends had their bank accounts seized, simply for donating to Freedom Convoy. People I know got beat up during the period of martial law ("emergencies act"). I saw fellow Canadians beat with clubs, trampled by horses, and slammed head-first into pavement. All because Trudeau said it was necessary to protect Canada from the truckers and their supporters.

All be had to do was end the vaxxine mandates, and 90% of the protest would have dissolved. They stopped over the line with the mandates, and even the average Canadian was pissed off. Ending body autonomy is not something we were willing to accept. Instead of being reasonable, they tried to send a message that dissent will no longer be allowed.

And now, the top court has ruled that we were justified in our protest. That Turdeau and Chrystia Freeland were wrong to crush dissent with tyranny. That Canadians were "violated" by their government.

"We do not agree with the decision and will be appealing."

What new evidence could they possibly have, 2 years later? Nothing. So what's their grounds for appeal? Simply that they don't agree, and want the judge to change his mind? The judge was already clear that he deliberated for months, and did not come to the decision lightly. Asking him to come back with the other outcome, just because you disagree, isn't going to work.

I really doubt they will appeal. Probably just saying that to save face, after being so clearly smacked down with some common sense. They had no right to take away the hard-won freedom of Canadians, simply to outlaw an inconvenient peaceful protest. It was easy to crush valid protest with thuggery, but it wasn't right. Canada's prime minister, the supposed leader of the country, has been once again disgraced through his own unconstitutional actions, and found by the justice system to have violated the rights of his own people.

Let this be a signal to the globalists. We will stand in your way, and rightfully so. If you try to stop our natural right to peacefully protest injustice, we will resist.

Of course it was highly unethical and immoral for what happened.

What will be the consequences for his actions?

At the very least, those responsible should be considered as traitors, perhaps as having committed crimes against humanity. Most likely, they will be given another pass, or maaaaybe an insignificant symbolic slap on the wrist.
