Freedom is for everyone

"You're not a REAL Canadian!" shouted an agitated woman from her minivan. "You have no right to hold that flag," she told me as she slowly rolled past. I was holding a Canadian flag as I stood in the town square, taking part in the weekly freedom rally in my small BC town. Our group mostly ignored her, and soon she drove on.

( Taken at my small town's freedom rally on Saturday )

I looked around at my fellow freedom-fighters. The above snapshot was taken just after the woman gave up, and we returned to our conversations. We only had about 20 people around the fountain this week, because about 100 of us were simultaneously performing another action elsewhere. It was nice, though, because it allowed my wife @MediKatie and our newborn girl be the center of attention! My son Brett had a blast with his "adopted" aunts, uncles, and grandparents.

I have had the pleasure to to meet many of them at these Saturday afternoon protests, which began after the first Covid lockdown here. Some have become my friends. Indeed, some have become my family, as they stood in that place for my toddler son and more recently my newborn daughter, after our blood families rejected us over Covid-related media brainwashing. Essentially, the woman in the minivan could have been my mother (though she wasn't).

I've met dozens of solid Canadians, people who will give their lives and possessions to keep Canada from falling into the hands of globalist technocratic tyrants. My experience has shown me how deeply the vein of Liberty runs in Canada - which is all the way to the heart. These people are well-informed and motivated, peaceful but strong. The quality level of the folks involved with the anti-lockdown protests and other freedom rallies and events is extremely high. I would say they set the bar for their fellow Canadians.

So to have this sweaty, angry, misinformed person yelling at us that we have no right to hold "her" Canadian flag, it's hard to do anything but shake your head. Ironic. Tragic. You know there's nothing you can say or do to reach her. Arguing with people so ignorantly and fully committed to the state is pointless. She doesn't want to hear the truth, and she has already made up her mind. Or, rather, the television and smart device made up her mind for her. There we are, defending Canada from tyranny, giving hours and days every week to the cause, standing up against a corrupt government and media who censor and slander us at every opportunity. She felt the need to spend a few minutes of her day shouting and swearing at us, attempting to bring us down or dissuade us from our efforts.

I wasn't angry at her. I was sad for her.

The woman in the minivan believes she's right, and that her opinion is the norm in our community. But how would she know? She's just one person, driving past a crowd of freedom-loving Canadians. If she were to join us, she would discover we have the backing of almost every Canadian! The supportive honking, waving, and cheering is nonstop. Just about every vehicle (and pedestrian) is with us. We get only the occasional thumbs down (or middle finger), and almost no nasty confrontations like hers. She's actually just about alone in her beliefs, although she feels emboldened by the corporate state media, which tells her Canadians hate freedom and that the Canadian flag is a sign of extremism.

Though I am an immigrant to Canada (at 10 months old), I did go through the Citizenship process, and I have lived my whole life here, as a Canadian. My ancestors settled this country in the 1800s, as I'm currently learning through my genealogical research. My grandfathers both served the Allies in World War II (medic), and their fathers had served in World War I (resupply). I have studied the topic of freedom and fought the infowar against tyranny here in Canada for 15 years. I felt like asking the woman, "what do you really know about freedom, or about Canada?"

Perhaps she is conflating the country and people of Canada with its sitting political party? We aren't protesting against Canada, we're protesting against the policies of Justin Trudeau's Liberal party. We aren't anti-Canadian! In fact, we're very pro-Canadian. That's why so many of us tend to sport Canadian flags. Personally, I've never been very focused on patriotism, but the past couple years - especially Freedom Convoy - has made me proud to be Canadian again! And I will continue to fly the red and white maple leaf flag.

It would be easy to get offended or discouraged. But those of us out there right now are pretty hardened. The skittish never showed up, or have quit and gone back to their couches. We are the ones who aren't going to falter because of any brainwashed media zombie. Encountering members of the public like her remind me of why I'm out there. We aren't there just to preach to the choir - we are trying to reach those who need the saving grace of Liberty.

Yikes, scary lady! I'm glad we made it; our presence was greatly needed on a day with such a small turnout. Too bad people let their guard down when they think they're free.

That certainly is YOUR flag mate! 🇨🇦

...says the German dude at the other end of the world! 😜🤙

Sounds like everysunday is a bit of an adventure and I love that. I'd probably be right out there with you guys, why not. Ya know if I wasn't motorbiking through Thailand and shit...spoken like a true American...hahaha

If you ever see that lady, you can tell her World Travel Pro from Blurt says go fuck yourself! lol

On another note. My very good friend @teamsteem maybe a name you recall, he too is Canadian and he told me about his great uncle or something from 1850, publicly hanged and executed for going against the current government. Says he could not have been prouder to be a descendant. I'm sure you, I and him would all have a great time hanging out and smoking a joint together. Great post, looking forward to the next!

Thanks for your great comment, as usual!
Thoughtful and funny at the same time, very nice : D
I'll grow some really good organic outdoor weed this summer, dry it and cure it well, and then sometime in the next 6 months you can come visit and we'll get sampling. If you can't make it to Canada in that timeframe, I'll just have to use it all up myself, and then grow more next year.

Thanks buddy. I would love to but dont hold your breath, and dont let the herb get moldy either; since Trudope is banning handguns I wont have any way to defend myself against the zombies! Lol but you never know and I appreciate the offer.

Yes, Canada is a pretty scary place nowadays! Like a prison. And I'm not allowed out. I don't blame anyone for not wanting to visit me here!!

IMHO, that just as a side note, flags can't really be own this way, if I am in Romania and want to hold/fly the Canadian flag, there is NO Canadian or international law that can stop me from doing that, maybe just the local law in some particular cases.

Yes but who cares what silly lawmakers have to say about it anyway? : P
