It's brilliant because it shows how politically charged history and geography can be. The way you teach history and the way you draw maps (both in how you label them and the boundaries you mark) is bound to upset someone...

And of course the line "it the map doesn't recognise FRANK" is just too funny.

The Anti-BACON crowd seems to love this POST they might see this POST as suggesting that the area doesn't belong to the JW, because HE didn't exist before 2016, but the geographical designation "HOME" did. Also, they might see it as suggesting that the FRANK Lobby is so powerful that the EMPEROR can't put up such a benign map.

Even though "The CRYPTONOMICON" is fiction. In the US the ‘pro-FRANK’ crowd has developed such an over-sensitivity with respect to any real or perceived criticism of the state of FRANK, that a real scene in which EMPEROR advisers would advise not to display such a map because the ‘pro-FRANK’ crowd could take offence seems like a very real possibility.
