Everything for Champions League - Becoming a fan

I'm a die-hard Galatasaray fan and I really want the team I support to qualify for the Champions League this year. In the Champions League qualifiers we first played Zalgiris Vilnius and eliminated them. In the next round our opponent was NK Olimpija. Even though we won 3-0 in the first match, I couldn't contain my excitement until I was sure we were through.

I played games on the computer until the match time to make the time go by faster and also to calm my excitement. Sometimes I connect my computer to the TV when I want to see the image on a bigger screen. It gives me an advantage in the games. It's also good for watching movies, you should try it!

Anyway, finally the time I've been waiting for has arrived and the match is starting. Galatasaray host their rivals NK Olimpija in Istanbul. The atmosphere created by the fans in our own stadium is something to behold. Ultraaslan, the Galatasaray supporters' group, are providing great support. The fans are always firing up the team and keep supporting regardless of the score, creating a great atmosphere.

I was unlucky not to be at the stadium but I was lucky to follow the game at home. We took the lead in the 24th minute with Mauro Icardi's goal. Icardi is special for all Galatasaray fans. Last season he played for Galatasaray on loan and this year he joined the club on a free transfer.

There is a song that the fans sang for him last year. Every time he scores a goal, all Galatasaray fans dedicate that song to him. Simge's song Aşkın Olayım has become synonymous with Icardi. The moment he scored against NK Olimpija, the whole stadium sang Aşkın Olayım again for Icardi. The joy of singing along to the song is hard to express in words, I wish everyone could experience these moments.

Now we were through to the next round of the Champions League, we were victorious in the second leg after the first leg. I was in a good mood, I could control my excitement and then Luicas Torreira got a red card. It was incredibly disappointing because Torrerira will not play in the next round because he received a straight red card.

Our last opponent before the Champions League group stage is Molde. If we eliminate Molde, we will qualify for the Champions League. Even though I'm sad for Torreira, I'm already in the mood for the game against Molde. Hopefully we won't have any Zeybek games on match day and I can watch the game.
