Shackled minds - let us get a grow on

This bit above is small, possibly 5 feet by 5 feet, ish.

This will be my all year round Permaculture plot. You plant seeds tightly and make sure it is plants that like to live along side other plants, just like people some plants hate other plants, so this will be experimental, I will keep you updated with the results as this is a new concept for me, but hey, what do I know 😀......

I want to do this as I hope most people have a small space to grow food in, so this to me is a way to help others without having to send them anything, I can send anyone some seeds if they need some, anyone, in any country and for free.

Root parsley and carrots like living together, this much I know.
Onions as in chives like living with most things, they also see out any winter, no matter how harsh, these have lived in this old pot for 8, yes 8 years.

Food is free if you let it thrive.

If you have a patch of land to plant things in, plant tomatoes (if you like them) as they will come back year upon year from their own seeds (non-GMO that is).....

These are a few other places I am planting/have planted food on.

That patch above is for raspberries, and larger food like courgettes.

This next patch is for carrots, parsley, peas and onions, oh and the odd pepper here and there.

There is also a grapevine there, do not tell Marvin hey.

Got a superb grapevine here too.

DSC_1325.JPG

Hard to see if you do not have grapevines I guess?

This next bit is sand and soil so works best with tomatoes. Peppers and the like.

DSC_1324.JPG

Yes I have a lot of soil to turn, a lot off weeds to remove too.

The fields are already primed, locked and loaded with seeds, here they are.

And the apple orchards are also doing fine.

My favorite apple tree is this one, cooking apples.

I want to do a series of posts about small gardens, window gardens too, everyone has a window, don't they?

If we can help each other, with knowledge about growing food, what works and what does not, that has to be better than a selfie, does it not? You would not want a photo of my ugly face anyway. 😜

So here goes everything, we are growing together, food is free is back again, 1 more time, 1 more year, if the lunatics that people vote for do not kill us all.

Have s superb, sunshine filled day, let us get our grow on, organic, no pesticides, no GMO.
But if you do not want to grow your own, expect massive price rises this year, currency crash is imminent.

What can I say, I grow food, this is what I do now.

Been buying various fruit and berry plants this last week and planting them about the property. Also taken some cuttings from a Wilde plant that are edible. Also buying more seeds.

When I was little my father grew paprika, cucumber, tomato in canals that were full of rice husks, apart from the irrigation was drip, he had a well with chemical water. A greenhouse on our lot. Our land was small but he planted in open canals. Thanks for sharing.

Get one of these my friend, you can grow anything in it all year round.

Been very busy myself prepping my next bit of land. tried to do it by hand but have had to give in and a man with a digger is coming next week to get an area ready for the polytunnel. meanwhile I've been clearing rogue trees and stocking up on wood for next winter. I been so busy I forgot to take pics so will get some done in the morning.
If you want any tips on composting I've been making my own the veganic way.
Also are you gonna grow wheat? I think it will be a good plan, if I had a field like that I'd grow some.

Yes growing wheat, corn and all sorts tgal, I have a deal with a gent that owns a tractor that saves me buying one and maintaining it, he plough's the fields and plants it and I supply the seeds, he gets one field for feeding his cows and I get his cows when the grass is long to eat it and he supplies me manure too, mutual cooperation, it works well.
The only other thing I add is lime, on some bits, others I just leave alone.
8 years into this now, egg shells work well too for keeping slimy creatures away or at bay.

I'm using veganic methods so quite different. The land here is very limey already so no additives for me. Yeh slugs, don't talk to me about slugs lol.....

Slimey little buggers, beg for some egg shells off a non-vegan :-) See what you are missing out on now? 😀

meh they don't eat much it's just the seedlings you have to keep em away from. I have my own methods without smelly eggshells which probably attract rats.

This is beautiful buddy @ajerkoff. I totally agree with you that If we can help each other, with knowledge about growing food, what works and what does not, that has to be better than a selfie. Absolutely, it is better than a selfie.

This is because:
T - together
E - everyone
A - achieves
M - more

We are all in this together.
This post reminds me of the little vegetable garden my Dad always had me grow and maintain during my elementary school days and it was real fun to see myself grow veges that was eaten by our family and neighbours. Indeed, we ain't gonna die due to lunatics in high places 🤣😂.

By the way I love the grapevine because I love wine 🍷 😋. Afterall, wine gladdens the heart.

Cheers buddy and thanks for this piece.

Cheers my friend.

Always a pleasure.
Cheers!

The best thing to do is grow your own food.
Your planting field looks pretty nice and the soil looks fertile, you might get in some trouble with pests, but the organic produce is worth it!

The only pests are those that want to tax me when they produce nothing but talk and war.

Nice work and beautiful place. I am working on editing together my biochar and compost video to post soon. Just got my water tank to get a head start on the rainy season. More greens to come. #blurtfarm

There is nothing like producing food by our own hand, the earth is made to produce it, we can do it ourselves.
