Regulating the Food Supply Chain Through Blockchain

in food •  4 years ago

While the vulnerability of the supply chain is evident in transnational transport, blockchain can close the circle of potential criminals in the supply chain and thereby reduce food fraud.

Blockchain can transcend boundaries and regulations, allowing manufacturers and consumers to legitimize their supply chains, eliminating the need for multiple intermediaries that can facilitate food fraud or other crimes such as corruption and document fraud.

By eliminating anonymity in the food supply chain, blockchain technology can support safer, smarter and more sustainable food supply.
