This is a very small time restaurant in the city which is specialized for serving sea food. On an off I visit here when I am urging for some nice sea food treat. Hubby had never visited this place, since I always came here with my friends. I got hubby this time to try out. He is also a sea food fan, so I wanted him to try out this place. It's a very ordinary and a small place but it has the most amazing sea food available. The name of this place is called Jai Hind. There is mad rush at any given day in this place and there is no advance reservation. As you go there you get a place, there will always be some waiting time. On a week day it is still easier to get a place but weekend is rush. We had a half an hour wait time before we got a place to sit, and it was worth the wait.
We selected on our menu while we were waiting outside, so that by the time we would get a table our food would be ready, and normally they follow this practice so that when you get a table to sit, there is no more waiting time for the food then and you are served as quickly as possible.
I was tempted just looking at the pictures.
Within 5 minutes of we getting a seat, the food was served.
This is fried fresh Bombay Ducks, a dish that is only available in Maharashtra and some parts of Gujarat. It's a fresh water fish and the taste is not like any other fish. The inside of this fish is very soft. One of my most favorite fish. Whenever I come to Mumbai on the very first day I have this fish.
We can never miss the prawns, it is my and hubby's all time favorite.
Fresh Pomfret Curry. It is a specialty of this place. We were 4 of us so this much food was enough for all of us. We ordered our preferences and then shared it.
A happy me with my most favorite food
