In India we eat Samos as evening snack. If you ask me to describe how it looks, then i would say it is a combination of tacos and momos. They will be stuffed and designed more or less like momos but the covering will be baked or fried like tacos.
These fried triangles are stuffed typically with potato mash added with seasonings, finely chopped onions, green chillies, and fresh coriander (you can try other stuffing also if you want). The outer covering will be made of the dough of all purpose flower added with some salt.
The stuffing after preperation.
The dough.
This dough will be pressed to make a circular form like a tortilla and made split into two from the center, making it a semicircle, to make a form of cone for the staffing.
There are 2 different methods of stuffing:
Method one: in this method you can life the half tortilla in the hand, holding it in a conical form to make space for adding the stuffing.
Method two: in this method you can fold the semicircular tortilla directly on the base by adding the filling in the center and then fold it as a triangle.
Finally sealing the top so that it doesn't open up and penetrate any oil in it.
Lastly, deep fry them in hot oil / or you can bake them as well.
And Thadaa!
Your hot delicious samosas are ready. All set to surve.
It looks, smells and tastes the best. It can be served with sauce, chatni with some salted and fried green chillies.
As you all have seen in the process there is a lot of excersize and geometry involved in it. Like, making the covering round first then splitting it into a semicircle to make a cone out of it which will give a conical triangular shaped samosa.
I don't just love eating them, but i love making them too. They are filling and yam!
