Tasting a Baklava for the first time

in food •  2 years ago

There's a new sweets shop in the city and I visited there to get some sweets. My elder sister and her kids were at my house for a few days so I thought of buying se sweets.

Until a few months ago I had no idea what a Baklava was. I saw some ads on Facebook that sold these Baklavas online and I did a quick Google search to find out what this was.

Turns out it is a Turkish sweet and it is getting popular here in India.

The one that you see in the photo is an Almond Baklava with Honey on it.

I did taste it as it has no sugar. I know Honey is not good for me but a little bit of it will not hurt me.

The Baklava was crunchy, the layers were really good and it wasn't too sweet. I loved the taste of honey and almonds.

Almonds are my favourite dry fruits and I munch on them once in a while.

There were a few more variations at the sweet shop but I only tried one.
