Food post

I think it's been a while since I shared photos of what I eat. Today I was at a restaurant and I had these Set Dosa.

I live in South India and I often eat South Indian food.

It is called a Set Dosa because they serve two or three of these thick pancake like Dosa. And a lot of people might confuse a Dosa to a pancake but it is not a pancake.

And I finished off my meal with a hot cuppa of coffee and now I feel a bit better.

Pancakes are sweet, dosa isn't sweet.

The dosas I've had have been thin and crispy, often rolled up and filled, like masala dosa.
Kinda sad, had better Indian food in England than here in Thailand!
Actually, the best food I've had here was by accident, from a chef who'd recently emigrated and was still cooking traditional dishes. lol

There are a few different types of traditional dosas. This one's called Set Dosa and there's another type called Uttappa. The one you are might be a paper dosa and it is the thinnest Dosa ever!

I think England has more Indians than Thailand.

True!

When I've asked Indians, they say the imported spices here are old and stale. wtf! I'd think import companies would be run by Indians! mmm...
And Indian restaurants are weird - this in a country that eats chillies all day long - they make everything really mild and bland!
Thais say they don't like the "smell" of Indian food! Which strkes me as insane given Thais eat some things that smell of sewage.
I cook at home :-)

I have never had Thai food but it is popular in India too. Probably the spices are not of high quality to keep the prices low or profit margins high.
