Canned tuna is a must in my kitchen because we all love tuna. Usually, we use it for sandwiches and wraps for quick and easy meals on the weekends. Sometimes, we do tuna sushi too. We had some leftover tuna from the sandwiches, this time I decided to stir fry pasta using the leftover tuna flakes. I had never cooked it this way before, so it was a trial and either error or success. 😁
Penne tuna aglio olio
4 Ingredients only
This was so easy to cook, just needed 4 ingredients; garlic, tuna flakes, penne and aglio olio mix (chilli flakes and dry herbs).
Oh yes, you would need a good quality olive oil too. First, drizzle a good amount of olive oil on a pan, add stir fry the garlic until fragrant. I especially love the nice fragrant of garlic olive oil, this was the secret to a yummy aglio olio.
Followed by adding the tuna flakes and stir fry until all the flakes being coated with the fragrant garlic olive oil.
After this, your house would be filled with the nice aroma of tuna as well. Now was the time to add in your pasta, I chose penne because I love those tuna flakes stucked in the holes of the penne, that way, every mouthful was tuna-filled. Lol... Fusilli worked too. But, please, no using spaghetti or fettuccine. That's my opinion. At this time, added in also the aglio olio mixture which was made of chilli flakes, some dried garlic and dried herbs. I bought this from my friend, whose company sold all sorts of dried food.
Guess what, after few more minutes combining all the ingredients, our penne tuna aglio olio was ready! Scoop them out.
I could not stand the sight without greens so I went to steam some broccoli, then top the plate of pasta with broc-broc. It did whole lot better with some green decoration. Have a look!
