THE MUSHROOM CHICKEN CHOPS
There was some discount that week on mushrooms in our local supermarket. I bought around 1 kilo of mushrooms. And want to make something new and delicious. This recipe is my invention so when I started making it I kept adding ingredients as I went along. There is no photo of all ingredients but they listed.
Ingredients:
600 grams champignon
400 grams of chicken mince
3 tsp ginger minced
3 tsp garlic minced
2 onions
2 chilies (green)
2 tbsp oil
2 tsp salt
1 tsp black pepper
1 tbsp coriander
2 pinches of beetroot powder
2 tbsp cornstarch
1 tsp chili powder
1 tsp turmeric
1 tsp garam masala
1 tsp coriander powder
1/2 tsp cumin powder.
1 tomato to make puree
1tbsp tomato paste
1 tsp lemon juice
1 tbsp yogurt.
Clean and finely chop mushrooms. Do the same chop the onions or use a mini chopper for fine chopping. finely mince the ginger and garlic.
Here are minced garlic ginger, onions, and mushrooms. salt pepper and chicken mince.
Heat the oil in a skillet. add 1 tsp minced ginger and garlic. stir it for 1 minute
Add minced onion saving half for later. and stir it after the onion becomes translucent remove it from the pan and keep it aside.
In the same pan/skillet add 1 tsp oil.
Add mushrooms mince, stirring until all the water evaporates.
Add salt and pep
in a bowl mix the chicken mince with the spices coriander, cumin, chili, powders, and garam masala.
Then add fried onion, and fried mushrooms, mix in the cornstarch,
Add chopped coriander and then beetroot powder. add 1/2 tsp salt more if your chicken mince has no salt.
and mix all the ingredients to make a dough consistency
Shape the dough like sausages.
Roll them on baking paper.
and steam for around 5-7 minutes in a steamer.
Make a pintest. if the pin comes clear it is done. Remove the baking paper and let them cool for 4-5 minutes.
After cooling down Chop them into small pieces.
Stir them in skillet for around 2-3 minutes. Remove them and keep them aside.
add pureed tomato.
Sprinkle coriander.
Yogurt or cream
Stir and cook for a minute.
Add sliced sausages/chops. and cook for around 2-3 minutes on low heat.
here are the mushroom chops ready. Eat with rice, pasta, or spaghetti I use rice pancakes.
