It has been a long time since I ate 3 Square Meals in One day.
Typically I have a liquid breakfast.
And that’s about it.
“Three” refers to the number of meals per day: breakfast, lunch, and dinner. “Square” refers to it being a complete meal, nutritionally correct and filling; the origin is uncertain but it presumably is related to uses of “square” meaning “correct”, “proper”, and “even”.
