How to prepare your African salad.

Hello friends In African we have species of food today, I will show you few steps and with explanations on how I prepared my African salad It very simple. Thanks you all for your time on this post and I believe you will learn something exotic from this post.


Before I will start showing you my procedure I will like you all to know about African salad locally called (abacha) and how it is been produced.

AFRICAN SALAD

It's an African food inform of a salad made with cassava (manihot esculenta) mixed with palm oil and other ingredients which I'll mention in the preparation process.

Let me go and extra Mille to show you how to get abacha from cassava.

PROCESS OF GETTING ABACHA FROM CASSAVA TUBER

  • after harvesting your cassava tuber or buy from market you pill it them wash thoroughly
  • After pulling them you cut your Cassava into slim pieces.

  • Cook till it get soft then slice with a casava grater or shredder.

  • Soak it with cold water overnight.

  • Wash thoroughly till the water becomes clear.

  • Sieve and dry under the sun for three days



The above points mentioned is how to get your salad (abacha) from cassava tuber.

Now let look at the preparation process as this is the most important part of this post. before I start let me list out the ingredients I used in preparing it.

ingredients

  • 3 cub of star maggi
  • fish
  • cryfish
  • Onion
  • abacha
  • palm oil
  • meet
  • fresh pepper
  • garden egg and the leaf
  • ngor or patash.

PREPARATION PROCESS

step 1

Soak abacha in a hot or cold water for about 20-30 minutes

Add ngor and palm oil together in another bowl reason is to thicken the solution. After that them you add all your ingredients to the mixed solution ie crayfish, onion, Maggi, etc.

This is the mixture of ngor and palm oil with all my ingredient mixed together.

step 3

Filter out the water from the abacha and pour it to the mixture and turn together them sprinkle your salt and add your cooked fish and steamed meet to it.

Turn thoroughly till all the ingredients are well mixed after that your African salad (abacha) is ready.

Them dish in a plate and add your slices onion, fresh paper, garden egg and garden egg leaf. YOUR SALAD is ready.

note : in case you want to try this and you can't find the liquid ngor you can use potash which can also serve you better.
