How To Make Amala.

Amala is a typical Nigerian food. It is mostly eaten by the people of Oyo state in Nigeria. It is also eaten by all Yoruba people in general.
Amala is made from Yam flour. Yam flour is popularly known as Elubo in Yoruba language. Elubo is made from Yam. The Yam will be sliced, dried and grinded to make the Yam flour. Iguess some of us don't know what Yam flour looks like so I'll help with a picture of it.

Let's get to how to make Amala. Remember, Amala is made from Elubo which is popularly known as Yam flour or Cassava flour.

Firstly, make you that you boil water. Boiling water is the simplest thing to do once it comes to cooking.

After boiling the water, pour the Elubo in the water and mix it continuously with turning stick. I forgot to snap my turning stick. You can see it in the Amala picture. When you mix it very well, the Elubo will change to Grey colour. Please make sure that you turn the Amala very well that it won't have any lump.

Add little water to the Amala to moisturize it. Please make sure that it is hot water. The only reason I may add cold water to my Amala is when the hot water has finished. Adding water will moisturize it and make it softer. It will also make good.

Continue to turn the Amala till there's no more visible water in it. Just make sure that you keep turning it over and over again.

After that, you can dish the Amala in your plate. After making sure that there is no more water, it's not too soft, it's not too hard and it doesn't have any lump, you can dish int in your plate.

You can now eat your Amala with your preferred soup. I ate it with Ewedu and Omi Obe. You can eat your Amala with Efo riro, Egusi, Ewedu ati Gbegiri, Ilasa, Eku, Orunla and so on...
We'll talk about how to make these soups some other time but I need to show you what I ate the Amala with.

Note: If your Amala is too soft, sprinkle little Elubo on it and continue to mix it till it gets to the texture you like.
If your Amala is too hard, put some water and continue to mix it till it gets to the texture you like.
If your Amala has any lump, sprinkle some Elubo and continue to mix it till it doesn't have any lump again.

Sorry about the unclear pictures, I snapped them while cooking but the smoke made it look blurry.

Have a nice day❤️.
