Most people look for other people's acceptance because they think it will make them happy. Everything from a bigger house to a new automobile or accessory to the next promotion just brings about a fleeting sense of happiness. Happiness, in actuality, is a reflection of one's identity rather than their possessions.

The secret to happiness is to live a flexible life—not a perfect one. Being adaptable means embracing your humanity. You can experience all of your emotions with the Flex without being constrained by them. Additionally, you must eliminate some harmful basic ideas, such as the notion that you are not good enough, that you need to put in more effort, and that success and happiness would make everything better. Converting rigid ideas into flexible ones is another aspect of the flex. You might still occasionally revert to rigid and harmful thinking. Use your Flex mind upgrade to fix that, though, once you're aware of it. To think flexibly, your body and mind must cooperate to achieve wholeness. Being adaptable is the key to living a better, healthier, and more pleasurable life.

Choosing enoughness is a daily struggle when nearly all forms of media and culture constantly remind you of your shortcomings. This cultural conditioning needs to be constantly questioned and contested. Knowing that you have already made it through every single one of your toughest days to date allows you to look forward to the future with excitement and delight.

Being surrounded by toxic stress, anxiety, and unpredictability is perhaps one of humanity's biggest issues. You don't have to pretend that everything is OK and that you're cruising through life. Being more alert is one way to deal with this constant stress-filled lifestyle. Deep breathing, mindfulness, and meditation can help you discover a whole new realm of wellbeing and tranquility.

The assumption that happiness is something you can attain and that everything will be wonderful for the rest of your life once you do is one of the main issues with the happiness industry. Happiness, regrettably, does not come with a smile and last a lifetime. Happiness shouldn't be a covert form of "perfection." Instead, accept the range of feelings that make you who you truly are. Instead, contentment should come from accepting who you are and finding your authentic self again.
