My walk routines are something that I never miss, be it wherever I am. When I am in Mumbai there are 2 of my favorite spots where I like to go for walks or sometimes just go there and spend some leisure time. One is the beautiful Marine Drive which is more of a hangout place then walks. It is good for walks but it is too crowded so these days I avoid going there much and come to my second favorite place which is the Breach Candy Garden which is by the Sea side.
During my college days there was no garden here and we would come here to sit on the rocks. It was also more of a lovers point...hehehe, yaa but we would come here in our group just to hang out. Later when the Garden was built up, initially I did not like it, but then over the time, as I started coming here for my regular walks, I got fond of this place. The good part of this place is it's close to my home and there is no crowd here. Majorly people come here for only for walks from nearby areas. No food is allowed inside the place, so that is also one reason why a lot of casual visitors avoid.
This place has walking and jogging tracks so it makes convenient for fitness people.
The Entrance to the Park
This is another park next to it, which is a children's park, with all their games and a nice garden for them to play. Both are connected but to visit the children's park there is a nominal entry fee.
Anyways for me right now the children's park does not matter, as no child in my home. I am keen only on visiting the walking park
This area is covered right now which is sea facing. I miss those views of the Sea. There is a Coastal road in construction and hence the whole place is covered up and no views of sunset any more here. Good or bad cannot say but yes with the increase in city traffic and narrow city roads creating congestion all the time, there is a need for this coastal road which would ease out the city traffic to a large extent. But then as you say, there is a price to be paid to gain something. Probably when the work will be completed and all of these coverings will be removed the sea views will still be there. But that's going to take a couple of years.
As of now I am more interested in my run :-)
There is a garden area also.
It's a cozy warm place. I always enjoy coming here. Specially after a hectic day this place brings in lot of good vibes.
The full circle of the park is 340 mts. 3 rounds make it a km. I take around 10 rounds so that makes it a 3 km walk and jog.
My return back home is again walking which adds up to and fro half an hour more to my walk. On the way there is a Coconut water vendor, I never miss having one before going home. It brings back the energy.
The pictures are not very clear, but the whole idea is to share my experience of this place and I hope you all enjoyed that.
