Arowana Fish - Majestic and Endangered

in fish •  4 years ago

I have been to many parts of the world and seen a great deal of aquariums. I am fascinated by the fishkeeping culture and various practices in attaining a stable and healthy ecosystem. Some people like to keep community tanks, other prefer lively aggression.

Arowana fish are seen as symbols of luck predominantly around Asia and their owners believe that treating this fish with care will provide protection against bad luck.

Some of the more experienced keepers will opt to keep single prized fishes, during my time in Asia I became friends with fellow enthusiasts who would keep Arowana at home, some giving homes to multiple in gigantic tanks.

Also known as dragon fish, they are beautiful and come in many different colors. As an endangered fish, this is the main reason as to why they banned here in the US and perhaps other parts of the world.
